CTS potentiometers are the default potentiometers in almost all American guitars. These pots are split shaft for fine-knurled (24-spline) knob, These will be direct replacement for most American Fender guitars.
Some Les Paul style guitars may require long shaft 500k pots instead.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts.
Which pot value should you choose?
The higher the value of the pot, the brighter the tone. Thus 500K pots are generally used for humbuckers, and 250Ks are typically used for single coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and dumps some of the high frequencies to ground earlier.
