Which ParaEq Do You Need?
The original ParaEq has been loved and trusted by musicians on a variety of instruments for over a decade. Both the ParaEq MK II and the ParaEq MK II Deluxe feature a low-noise, transparent signal path that is extremely versatile, with three fully parametric bands for broad tonal shaping and precise fine-tuning. The standard MK II is the choice for players who want that studio-grade parametric control and footswitchable boost in the most compact, straightforward package; step up to the Deluxe if you also need high-pass and low-pass filters and Baxandall shelving.
Why Parametric over Graphic EQ?
Graphic equalizers give you a convenient visual sense of the EQ curve, but there's a tradeoff in transparency and precision. A parametric EQ offers a much more focused adjustment, affecting only the targeted frequencies, while a graphic EQ alters a broader range of the spectrum and can unintentionally reduce other parts of the signal. That combination of transparency and precision is why studio control rooms are dominated by parametric equalizers, and why they're a great choice for creative and corrective EQ on your pedalboard.
